NOBACT Ag+
- The Last Generation In Sanitizing Technology
NOBACT Ag+™ is a STABLE and PERMANENT sanitizing additive developed to create, in combination with ASTRA solvent-based coatings, a powerful barrier against bacteria.
It is based on silver ion technology.
The intrinsic antibacterial properties of silver have been known since ancient times. NOBACT Ag+™ acts directly against the cell membrane by counteracting the proliferation of bacteria.
Enterobacteriaceae, gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria, part of the gut microbiome and agents responsible for various infections, such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, and others.
The inorganic nature of this additive together with the reduced particle size (NON-NANOMETRIC) and the resistance to high temperatures make it ideal for use in a wide range of coatings for application on various substrates.
Due to the GRADUAL and CONTROLLED RELEASE of Ag ions, NOBACT Ag+™ inhibits the spread of bacteria.
According to ISO22196: 2011 and the Japanese JIS Z 2801: 2006 NOBACT Ag+™ infused coatings reduce bacterial deposits by 99% within 24 hours of application as documented by tests carried out in CATAS laboratory in San Giovanni al Natisone (UD – Italy),
NOBACT Ag+™ is suitable for products intended for FOOD CONTACT and complies with EC 1935/2004 regulations and is approved by the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, according to the USA legislation).
EFFECTIVE AGAINST
NOBACT Ag+™ has proven effectiveness against the bacterial proliferation of:
- Campylobacter
- Escherichia coli (gram-negative of fecal origin)
- Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive of cutaneous origin)
- Listeria
- MRSA
- Pseudomonas
- Salmonella
NOBACT Ag+™ anti-bacterial effectiveness and potency does not deteriorate over time and is not affected by common household detergents and ordinary cleaning methods.
NOBACT Ag+™ is an additive that becomes part of the coating formulation which ensures protection not only to the surface but throughout the film.
INFUSION PROCESS
NOBACT Ag+™ 2% (by weight) must be added to solvent-borne coatings (interior or exterior) such as ACRYLIC POLYURETHANE, ALKYD POLYURETHANE, and NITROCELLULOSE (It cannot be added to unsaturated redox polyesters).
The 2% of NOBACT Ag™ is calculated on the weight of part A only (the paint) and not for the ready-for-use mixture (the paint plus hardener plus solvent).
NOBACT Ag+™ is NON-YELLOWING and does not alter the chemical or mechanical characteristics of the coating and provides an aesthetic result free of blotches or halos.
