BICOMPONENT (2K), WATER BASED
- Bicomponent (2K), Water Based
Water-based “2K” polyurethane paints form their continuous film through a chemical reaction with their hardener, also improperly called a catalyst.
The reaction takes place after the evaporation of the water, through a polymerization reaction of hydroxyl groups with the isocyanic groups of the hardener that were previously, blocked not reacting with the water. At the end of the curing process, a polyurethane film with exceptional performances (chemical, physical, and aesthetic) is thus created, and it is absolutely comparable with solvent-based polyurethane films.
